sunflower oıl
Sunflower is one of the most significant oil-producing crops globally and in Turkey, where it is primarily cultivated for its oil. Sunflower oil is widely used and valued for its quality.
In Turkey, sunflowers are grown in almost every region, making them the second most cultivated oilseed crop after cotton. They meet about 50% of the country’s vegetable oil consumption.
Turkey imports about half of its sunflower seeds from Bulgaria, with the remainder sourced from Ukraine, Romania, Russia, and Moldova. As for sunflower oil, around 50% of the imports come from Ukraine, with the rest from Russia, Argentina, Romania, and Bulgaria. Bulgaria plays a crucial role in seed imports, while Ukraine is a key supplier of crude sunflower oil.
